Lakeland High School Logo

Welcome

Welcome to Lakeland High School's website!  We are excited that you have chosen LHS - Home of the HAWKS!   The mission of Lakeland High School is to empower students to develop their individual potential by acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to a healthy, productive community.  This past year we had a 98% graduation rate and our students' SAT scores were the 6th highest of all comprehensive high schools in the state.  Stop by or call with any questions you may have.  We look forward to talking with you more.

LHS Grads Go Back to Elementary School!

Many of our 2017 graduates went back to their elementary schools to walk the halls one last time.  They enjoyed the accolades of the students and took the opportunity to see some of their former teachers.

Garwood Elementary Principal BJ DeAustin said, "It is one of the best days of the year!  It helps the students at the grade school see what it means to graduate from high school and the teachers love to see their students come back "home" for the parade."  Just one more example of what it means to be a part of the Lakeland family!

NISTAR Students and Teachers

NISTAR students Heidi Boyer and Cooper Haney and NISTAR teachers Shannon Hall and John Keating with principal Trent Derrick.

Congratulations to our Senior Garrett Mayo on his Sawyer Plumbing apprenticeship!

Lakeland High School's Near Peer Program Showcased!

Connor Auch, our near peer, and a couple of our senior students, Chris Fabianski and Cooper Haney are showcased in a video produced by the Idaho Department of Education.  Lisa Sexton, our assistant superintendent, shares her support of the program as well.  The video highlights the benefits of the Near Peer Program, which supports our students as they plan for life after high school.  We are so fortunate to have a position funded to assist our students in making such an important decision.

Lakeland Hawks win Battle for the Paddle Spirit Competition

Congratulations to our LHS student body.  You're awesome!  Thanks for being spirited, classy, and talented.  It was great to see you all having so much fun!

LHS Robotics Team awarded $6500 Grant!

Congratulations to our Robotics Team and LHS math teacher and adviser, Debbie Kimberling.  They submitted an application to the F3 Idaho Project earlier this fall; a program under the umbrella of Idaho AfterSchool Network.   The F3 Idaho Project is a twelve month multi-faceted approach to increase the diversity of participants in FIRST programs across Idaho and address the underrepresentation of rural, female, minority and economically disadvantaged youth in STEM and FIRST programs. The FIRST Idaho Coalition agreed to fund our team's request.  The grant is designated to cover up to $1500 in travel and another $5000 in fees and materials.  Great job and good luck to our future engineers!
