Lakeland High School Logo

Welcome

Welcome to Lakeland High School's website!  We are excited that you have chosen LHS - Home of the HAWKS!   The mission of Lakeland High School is to empower students to develop their individual potential by acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to a healthy, productive community.  This past year we had a 95% graduation rate and our students' SAT scores were in the top quartile of all Idaho high schools.

The chart below demonstrates the importance of earning a high school diploma to not only create greater opportunities for economic stability, but also to prepare oneself for economic independence as it is a critical step in the pursuit of higher education.  The income amount is the expected income at the midpoint of an individual's working career by education.

We also recognize the importance of career/technical training.  Below is a video that explains the importance of students going on to receive industry certifications.

Stop by or call with any questions you may have.  We look forward to talking with you more.

Lakeland High School at a Glance

New College and Career Counselor - Welcome!

My name is Peyton Buck and I will be the College and Career advisor this year. I was born and raised in Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University, go Big Blue!! I met my amazing husband at GSU while playing rugby and we just celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We moved to Idaho in December of 2013 and it has been one of the best decisions we've made! I worked at Lakeland in this position from 2013 till June of 2015. While I've spent the last two years working with the elderly, I am very excited to get back to helping the high school students at Lakeland!

This year I have many goals, the first being to ensure that all the seniors have a plan for their future once they step off that stage at graduation, whether they will be headed off to a college, university, trade school, military or into the work force. Secondly, I want to get the juniors to be more prepared to take the SAT and ACT, as well as getting them to narrow down some realistic goals for after high school. And lastly, I want to get the underclassmen more interested in their future. I would like for the freshman and sophomore classes to understand that their decision making time doesn't fall to their junior and senior year, but that planning sooner rather than later will open more doors for them in the future!
